Digital thermometer giving ambient temperature
Independent ground terminals for each firing cable
Eight industry standard 25 pair (50 conductor) anphenol connectors for firing cable attachment
Internal 24VDC Battery System
Can Switch to External Batteries with a flip of a switch
Smart battery charging system, just plug it into any 120VAC outlet and it does the rest
Professionally built printed circuit boards, complete with solder masks, and silk screened labels for easy component placement
Glow Panel Illumination System
Our unique first of its kind glow panel illumination system leverages the laws of physics along with a creative construction technique to make the firing panel glow when turned on. The package contains complete instructions on assembling this captivating feature. The pictures below show the panel during the day and at night when using the glow panel function. Watch a short video clip of the firing panel illumination system in action.
Circuit Boards
The firing system utilizes a stack of three identically sized circuit boards, two which contain a bulk of the firing polarity protection circuitry, and the third containing all of the other circuits, including, but not limited to the power circuit, continuity circuit, digital meter circuits, battery charging, bank selecting, etc. The third board also contains additional working space in case you want to get creative and add additional features yourself! Each circuit board was designed and laid out according to the schematics which are included with the firing system plans. The printed circuit board layouts are also contained in the package. The layouts also contain silkscreen labeling, which when submitted to the circuit board manufacturer are printed on the board to make it easy to see where each component and wire is placed. Each board layout was oversized and made larger than actually needed, to make it easy to work with and populate.
Firing Panel
The firing panel was designed to be easy to use during a fireworks show, with the firing cable connections in the upper left, the main control interface on the top, the bank selector switch and charging plug on the bottom left, and all of the firing buttons covering the majority of the remaining area. The package contains a CAD (computer aided drafting) drawing of the firing panel plate. The drawing was made using propriety software that allows you to take the included CAD file and submit it online to a specific machine shop for professional cutting and silk screening. You can always choose to create your own layout and cut the panel yourself if you have the background and tooling to do so.
Component Quality
Most of the panel mounted components, such as the pushbutton firing switches, LED indicators, digital meters, etc. were chosen for their watertight connections giving you a moisture resistant firing panel for use in any weather conditions. Only high quality components are used from top to bottom in the construction of the firing system. The author went out of his way to find suppliers with the best pricing for some of the unique components in the system, all of which are included with the package.
Batteries
The firing system incorporates a "smart" battery charger. A smart charger regulates the charge cycle to maximize the life of your internal batteries and ensure they are not damaged from improper charging. The internal batteries have a typical life span of 5-10 years depending on how often they are used and how often you charge them. They are easily swapped out when needed. In the event you forgot to charge your batteries before you left for show, the firing system incorporates a connection for an external 24VDC battery hookup.
This firing system has actually been built and fully tested. It is what Pyro Innovations uses at all of its manual electric fireworks displays. Start building your own firing system with our complete set of plans!
